* Why I think it’s okay to make fun of “identity” boxes: Having been the “only woman” in the room when I started in business (back when they actually said out loud that I was paid less than my male counterparts because they had a wife at home to support), I never wanted to be the “woman” in the room. I just wanted to be seen as a unique individual, with my own perspective, partly because I’m female, but also because of a whole hodge hodge of unique experiences and personality traits that make me exceptional. So if you, like me, want people to be curious about what you are about, other than your gender, wear it with pride! (or give it to someone else who will)
