The first thing I designed and made to bring a smile in the kitchen is the salt pig.
They have evolved.
The first thing I realized by mistake (the body wasn’t perfectly centered) is that when they are a little cock-eyed, they are more likely to make you smile. Then I realized they need eyes!
They continue to evolve.
Socrates is an old soul. Shazam’s the spicy, sassy, a little crazy one. Cleopatra is elegant, yet has cute freckles on her nose. Hermione has her eye on some Bertie Botts every flavor jelly beans.
Jim Kern names them and writes a little ditty about them. So when you commission one, you aren’t buying a salt pig, you are adopting one. If you have some thoughts about a name, you may request it and some key words to inspire Jim’s ditty.
No two pigs look the same, and I’m always improvising.
